IP Venture is the brainchild of Nick Reyntjens, a Master in Computer Science by education and a self-taught inventor with extensive hands-on experience in patent drafting, prosecution, and real-world prototyping.
Having built and tested multiple functional prototypes of complex systems, Nick bridges the gap between conceptual innovation and practical implementation. This hands-on engineering experience allows him to identify the mechanical and design nuances that often define the strength of a patent.
Nick has also been actively involved with EIC Grants and EU innovation programs, giving him a unique perspective on how startups and established enterprises can align their intellectual property with public funding opportunities and long-term strategic growth.
After spending the first half of his career as a software engineer in financial backend systems, overseeing transaction correctness and derivatives pricing for clients such as UBS and McKinsey Solutions, Nick transitioned into blockchain, AI, and advanced hardware-software integration.
While no software domain is foreign to him—from neural networks and LLMs to distributed ledgers—he believes the most valuable inventions combine the digital and the physical. Such hybrid systems not only advance technology but also result in stronger, more enforceable patent claims.
At IP Ventures, Nick helps clients:
Transform ideas into technically sound, broad patent applications
Produce CAD drawings that capture the core inventive concept
Build continuations and divisional applications for long-term protection
Strategically connect innovation, funding, and IP growth
With IP Ventures, inventors and companies gain a partner who understands both the engineering reality and the strategic future of their intellectual property.
